Exotic kannada girl Rakshita was brought up in Mumbai. Her father, B.C. Gowri Shankar, was a popular cinematographer in Kannada and her mother, Mamatha Rao, too acted in a few Kannada films. She joined the film industry after her father's death at her young age. After her father's death, she had to support her family. She is now busy with acting in Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil Movies. She likes reading books, listening to music and traveling. Her favourite authors are Agatha Christie and Sidney Sheldo
